{"id":1964,"date":"2021-11-19T11:22:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-19T00:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webdev.sydney.edu.au\/kolling\/?post_type=news&#038;p=1964"},"modified":"2026-03-13T15:23:27","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T04:23:27","slug":"kolling-researcher-takes-out-coveted-award","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/kollinginstitute.org.au\/staging\/news\/kolling-researcher-takes-out-coveted-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Kolling researcher takes out coveted award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Congratulations to Kolling researcher Dr Jillian Eyles who\u2019s been named one of the inaugural research translation fellows by Sydney Health Partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facing tremendous competition from a large group of outstanding researchers, Jillian is one of just five people to have been awarded a fellowship, which means they\u2019ll be able to dedicate a greater amount of their time to research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sydney Health Partners says the fellowships are aimed at building research translation capability in the workforce by supporting researchers to improve their translational skills while remaining in their substantive position. The fellowships will also involve learning support and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sydney Health Partners Executive Director Professor Don Nutbeam says the new fellows were successful in a highly competitive process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe are very pleased to be able to support such able clinicians and researchers through Sydney Health Partners. The standard of applications was very high and we are disappointed not to be in a position to support several other worthy applicants,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Eyles will now be able to direct her research focus to a project evaluating strategies to enhance the adoption of the Osteoarthritis Chronic Care Program (OACCP) across NSW public hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jillian has welcomed the fellowship saying it will provide an opportunity to extend this important program focusing on evidenced-based, patient centred care to improve outcomes for people living with osteoarthritis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile it is a great program, the clinicians who lead the OACCP have identified important aspects that could be improved to make it even more successful.
